Small Engine and Service Technician
Schedule would be full time Mon-Fri, 5am-1pm shift OR 11am-7pm shift
Pay rate will start at $18/hr but will be flexible depending on previous relevant experience
Reports to: Shop Manager

Responsibilities

Service and repair mowers daily
- Inspect and sharpen mower blades daily
- Blow off mowers and blowout air filters daily
- Check all belts and hoses daily
- Complete visual inspection daily of mowers, blowers and weed eaters for issues.
- Check all fluids and fill accordingly daily
- Repair equipment for following day or take out of service for repair
- Grease all mowers once a week
- Change mower oil on schedule
- Check mower truck oil and fluids weekly
- Check tire pressure and wear on mower trucks and trailers weekly
Provide service and repair to all small engine equipment and trailers
- Service and repair equipment in a timely and efficient manner
- Complete biannual service of all small equipment
- Inspect trailers routinely for preventative maintenance (lights, tires, wiring, etc.)
Maintain service tools and keep shop area clean
Check and lock all buildings
Communicate with Supervisor daily on all repairs and service
Assists with other tasks as needed

Education/ Experience

High school Diploma or GED
Previous vehicle and equipment maintenance experience
Ability to diagnose equipment problems
1-2 years’ experience with small engine repair.

Knowledge/ Skills/Abilities

Ability to operate all company vehicles, machinery and equipment
Basic computer & diagnostic skills
Customer service skills
Mechanical knowledge
2 stroke small engine knowledge
Tire mounting/dismounting knowledge
Ability to source/acquire parts
The ability to work autonomously
Knowledge of tools and their functions
Safety function knowledge
